DIANAMIC® precision wheels are engineered to meet the rigorous standards of the oil and gas industry, ensuring high-performance threading for critical components and the manufacture of carbide inserts for petroleum applications. These wheels provide the precision required for rotary-shouldered connections on drill pipes and tool joints, where thread integrity is vital for high-torque environments, and deliver exact geometries for API 5B casing and tubing threads, including 8-round and buttress forms.
Additionally, they are used for specialized profile grinding of downhole tools and valves requiring high-pressure seals, as well as high-speed, consistent finishing of heavy-duty couplings and connectors used in demanding field operations.

DIANAMIC® manufactures precision wheel cores to your exact print requirements and tolerance targets, produced on Sopko wheel adapters up to 8 in (203.2 mm) in diameter.
Design and Build Considerations
Wheel Size: The most common API thread grinding wheel diameters for high-accuracy applications are 8 in, 7 in, and 6 in, all precision-mounted on Sopko wheel adapters.
Angular Compensation and Profile Accuracy: For every specific design, we create 20X and 50X Mylar overlays compensated to match your print requirements—accounting for critical variables like clearance, helix angle, top rake, and tilt. Our specialists can advise on the best approach to achieve your required profile, including the use of angular tilting for complex geometries, which significantly extends wheel life and maintains profile integrity.
Profile Limitations: Minimum female and male radii are determined by the specified diamond or cBN mesh size. While finer mesh supports tighter radii, coarser mesh requires larger radii to maintain profile integrity. Our engineering team will confirm the feasibility of your specific geometry after reviewing your print and mesh requirements.
Delivery: Normal delivery is 5-7 weeks from receipt of print. Repeat new orders delivery for like product delivery is 4 weeks. Strip/recoat delivery is 7-10 work days from receipt of undamaged wheel blanks. We offer strip/recoat on undamaged cores. We do not offer repair of damaged cores.

To process your order, we require an AutoCAD or PDF drawing of the part being ground, your required wheel diameter, and complete compensation requirements (if known).
