High-Perfomance Electroplated Diamond Wheels

Friction Materials Diamond Grinding Wheels

Engineered for precision and durability, electroplated Diamond wheels deliver tight tolerances and complex profiles on abrasive friction materials like brake pads and clutch linings. This single solution efficiently handles everything from flat thickness control to intricate chamfering, grooving, and arc-shaping on tough compounds.

Precision Friction Wheels

Applications for Friction Grinding Wheels

For highly abrasive friction materials like brake pads, clutch linings, and drum shoes, specialized electroplated diamond grinding wheels are engineered to achieve complex forms and exceptionally tight tolerances under high-volume production demands. These high-performance wheels seamlessly handle flat-surface grinding and critical thickness control, while precisely executing intricate geometries like chamfering, grooving, and arc shaping. By utilizing a single layer of densely bonded diamond crystals, they maintain sharp cutting actions and exceptional structural integrity, resisting the extreme wear and heat generated by tough, composite friction compounds.

Wheel Core Options Based on Tolerance Requirements

Electroplated diamond wheels feature a single layer of Diamond electroplated to a steel core to withstand highly abrasive friction composites like ceramics, metals, and aramid fibers. This durable construction allows them to effortlessly handle aggressive roughing, finishing, and complex profiling on components like brake pads and clutch facings. By resisting the extreme wear that quickly degrades conventional abrasives, these wheels maintain tight tolerances without requiring dressing.

DIANAMIC® manufactures premium steel wheel cores and saw blades engineered to precisely match your specified drawing tolerances. Every core is high-speed balanced for optimal stability and performance. We utilize a synthetic diamond abrasive specifically selected for friction materials, offering exceptional durability and performance across a grain size range from 16/18 to 60/70.

Precision Electroplated Wheels Designed for High-Volume Friction Grinding

Primary Applications in Friction Material Processing: As the definitive industry standard for high-volume automotive, railway, and aerospace production lines, DIANAMIC® electroplated diamond wheels integrate seamlessly with advanced grinding systems like COMEC machinery.

Engineered to maximize material removal rates during aggressive roughing while ensuring flawless surface integrity during final finishing, these high-performance wheels effortlessly master complex profiling across semi-metallic, low-metallic, ceramic, and NAO formulations. By maintaining exceptionally tight geometric tolerances without ever requiring dressing, they eliminate critical process downtime and significantly lower per-part manufacturing costs.

Friction Grinding Wheels Applications:

  • Brake Pad & Lining Production: Manages critical thickness control for disc and drum pads while executing precise flatness, uniform surface grinding, cooling/wear grooves, and noise-reducing edge chamfers. This includes specialized grinding of fiberglass-reinforced backings and GRP/FRP composite friction components.

  • Brake Shoe & Drum Grinding: Machines exact inner and outer radii through precision inner/outer arc grinding, ensuring a flawless fit and superior surface finish on curved brake shoe linings.

  • Clutch Facing & Disc Processing: Efficiently handles flat grinding, chamfering, and slotting on automotive, heavy equipment, and industrial clutch friction materials.

  • Heavy Industrial Friction Elements: Provides precision shaping for highly abrasive components, including railway brake blocks, industrial brake bands, and heavy machinery transmission plates.

Standard delivery for new orders is 5–7 weeks from receipt of print, while repeat orders for identical products feature a reduced lead time of 4 weeks. We also offer a strip and recoat service for undamaged cores from any manufacturer with a 2–4-week turnaround, depending on the wheel size and mesh requirements; please note that we do not offer recoat services for damaged cores.
